Representatives to the Corporation Board for Friends Bulletin

(06/26/07)

(Adapted from 1998 Guide.)

The Representatives to the Corporation Board for the Friends Bulletin join representatives from Pacific Yearly Meeting and North Pacific Yearly Meeting to attend to the affairs of Friends Bulletin, and to represent the Bulletin within Intermountain Yearly Meeting.

Appointment:  Three Representatives appointed by the Yearly Meeting at large.  (A third representative was approved by IMYM 00-9, but the position was not filled until 2007.)

Terms:  Three years renewable, staggered for continuity of representation.  A term begins at the fall meeting of the Corporation Board following the yearly meeting appointment.

Responsibilities of the Representatives include:

1.   Attending and participating in meetings of the Board, which occur two or three times a year within the areas of the three yearly meetings.

2.   Reporting to Continuing Committee and Yearly Meeting the activities and concerns of the Friends Bulletin Corporation Board.

3.   In cooperation with the Board and the Editor, making personal efforts to increase circulation of the Friends Bulletin and to encourage monetary contributions from Friends to the magazine.

4.  In cooperation with the Editor, encouraging writers and artists to submit material to the Editor for possible publication in Friends Bulletin.

5.  Hosting a meeting of the Friends Bulletin Corporation Board in the IMYM area, when the Board decides to convene within the IMYM region.

Financial Arrangements:  The Yearly Meeting pays the expenses of the representatives to attend the Board meetings.  Incidental operating expenditures for clerical supplies, communications, etc., may be submitted to the Treasurer for reimbursement.  The Treasurer should be consulted before incurring unusual expenses.
