IMYM Friends to DC with Iraq Peace Crane Memorial
Friends Vickie Aldrich (Las Cruces) and Mary Burton Riseley (Gila) invite Friends to support taking the Iraq Peace Crane Memorial for display in DC over Memorial Day weekend. This project, containing over 4,000 paper cranes on 110 panels (side-by-side longer than a football field), has been constructed by Vickie, her family, and Las Cruces Friends in memorial of soldier lives lost in Iraq. They have a permit for "two days directly in front of the Capitol and on Monday near the Washington Monument on Constitution Avenue, the route of the "official" Memorial Day Parade." Intermountain Friends: If you have not yet sent in your annual gathering registration, please be aware of the following minute approved in January by the Continuing Committee:
”Friends are reminded of the importance of registering for YM on time – by April 15. This makes the Registrar’s job possible. However, YM also recognizes that there may be considerations that make this impossible for some Friends. If you must register after April 15 but before April 30, we request a $25 late fee per group to defray the expenses of late processing; please also give us the reason for the late registration so that we can use this information to adjust our systems. Late registrations may be accepted after April 30 in special circumstances at the discretion of the Registrar.” (CC-2008-09)

The Yearly Meeting is receiving contributions from Monthly Meetings and individuals for the immigration and border concerns work of the FCNL. The goal is $2,000.
